About Mrs. Pitts
Hi, my name is Kim Pitts. For the 2017-2018 school year, I am teaching 2nd grade at Lone Oak Elementary School. I am thrilled that you decided to visit my class web page. Let me take this opportunity to tell you a little about me.
All my life, I've been a Lone Oak girl. Yes, I bleed purple and gold. I grew up in McCracken County and graduated from Lone Oak High School in 1985. After high school, I attended Murray State University. I graduated with a degree in elementary education in December of 1989. I started working at Lone Oak Elem. the very next month, and I've been there ever since. I continued to attend Murray to earn my Master's degree in Guidance/Counseling. I also completed the Rank 1 certification in Guidance/Counseling. While at LOES, I've been a kindergarten aide, as well as, teaching 1st, 3rd, 5th, and now 2nd.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Doug for 16 years. I also have a cool, nineteen-year-old, stepdaughter named Carlee. I'm sure you'll also learn all about my Pomeranian "fur-baby" named Little Kiki Bear or "Kiki" for short.
Our favorite things to do together as a family are go to the lake or catch some rays by the pool. As most of you know, Doug, Carlee, and I are big St. Louis Cardinal fans so during baseball season we are at the game or glued to the TV. In addition to my love of the water and baseball, I also love to read. I'm always learning!
Teaching is my life. I can't imagine any other career for me. I enjoy spending time with children and watching them learn.
